6 Months Since Mz. Jaz Took Over The World

Haven't been on here in a while (I promise I'll do better at that) but anyways we're celebrating... it's #MzJaz 6 month birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Can't believe it's been a year already :')  I'm totally in love with this kid (no more than I love her brother). She stole the half of my heart Jatin left behind. I'm so blessed to be her mom.

Yendi Files Full Custody

Yendi Phillips [former Miss Jamaica World 2007 & Miss Jamaica Universe 2010] has filed for full custody of daughter Israel. The case was filed this week at the Supreme Court and Phillips is said to be asking that Israel's father, popular dancehall artiste Daniel "Chino" McGregor, pays a monthly child support of JMD$60,000. 

Now according to The Gleaner "As part of the custody arrangement, Phillips is asking the court to grant the dancehall entertainer [Chino] access to the child twice during the week for three hours and once every weekend for seven hours."




I'm not surprised that Yendi has taken this action, I mean come on everyone saw this coming! What shocks me however is the fact that she is only asking 60k for maintenance. Both parents are in good financial standing so their daughter must be use to the high life, why ask for "monkey money" Yendi? Maybe it was advised as a strategy by her lawyers at law firm Nelson-Brown, Guy and Francis.

I'll say this, I bet that she will gain full custody and when she does remember I said it first! Maybe it's because of my own experience with the Jamaican court system filing for full custody of my son but I know Yendi has a loooong road ahead and I empathize and fully side with her. Chino hush, you're just not Jamaica's sweet heart. You'll get over it and quickly I presume because you're the party type, you're just not the "settled-hubby-good-baby-daddy" type. That's your own fault you chose to portray yourself as the "raaay-party-all-day" type. I guess Asafa Powell got the last laugh on that one Mr McGregor! Besides if the rumors are true Yendi deserves full custody of Israel. All the best of luck to Yendi #SingleMamasUnite. I hope both parents can put their differences behind them though and will continue to love and support Israel, as we can see she's truly a doll.

Why Blog?!?

"So why blog?" you might ask. Hmm good question. There are a number of reasons I've decided to start blogging, I’m not sure which is the main reason though. It could be because I’m an opinionated, couldn't care less if I’m politically correct, realist and a somewhat feminist mom, who constantly has a lot on her mind and way too much free time at the moment. Could be that my mind is always ticking, I always want to learn something new, I’m a huge book worm (I read everything, except romance novels *yawns*… sorry Mills & Boons life isn't perfect!), natural hair lover and what’s worst I feel this need to share whatever knowledge I've acquired with others. You’re thinking well that’s nice of you Kayla… no sireee not all the time! Take for instance a few weeks ago my sis-in-law brought some guy over, we ended up discussing biology and all its wonders and I mentioned that whatever you smell you’re essentially tasting, so when you poop you are essentially tasting it (yes you can Google it I’ll wait)… he kept saying it’s not true it can’t be a fact and wanted to remain ignorant *sigh* poor soul, I surely had him schooled! I don’t know what it is with me (I swear it’s not because I’m cocky, I’m not Kanye West or anything); I just like sharing knowledge I’ve acquired. My spouse thinks I just know too much… yeah whatever. So anyways this blog will serve as my way to enlighten, educate or share my wide-range random knowledge with whom-ever wants to acquire it.

 I’m a proud mama so I will definitely be sharing my experiences with my spunky six year old son Jatin and my bun in the oven darling-daughter Jazlin. 

 As I mentioned before I’m an opinionated Scorpio so look out for posts on current affairs here in my native “Jam-Rock” (popularly known as Jamaica) and all over the world. There will definitely be some fashion posts, because what lady doesn't like to look good?! Also for those "naturalistas" out there I’m #TeamNatural all-day-every-day-baby! I’ll be posting about my 3c/4a hair and how I keep it from driving me nuts in this crazy straight hair world #CurliesUnite! In closing if you haven’t guessed I intend to make this blog, fun, informative and a journal of sorts to my awesomely not so awesome life… because hey, you know your life aint that awesome either so quit acting! I’m just bold enough to put it out there *sticks tongue out*
